BASIC EDIT VS A RETOUCH EDIT - What is best for you?
The choice between editing and photo retouching will depend on your specific needs and goals when post-processing your images, whether for personal use or commercial purposes. Both techniques have advantages and disadvantages, and it's important to know your needs to choose the best suited for your situation.

EDITING TECHNIQUES: Different editing techniques are based on the photographer/editor’s style. Photo editing is a versatile technique that can improve the overall quality of an image or change its appearance. It's an essential tool for photographers, graphic designers, and marketers, as it can help them create high-quality images for commercial or personal use.

BASIC EDIT: Basic editing techniques, such as color correction, exposure adjustment, contrast adjustment, sharpness adjustment, cropping, and resizing, can be used individually or in combination to achieve the desired effect.

MINOR RETOUCH: This is a basic edit applied without extensive skin retouching. Simple distractions and minor blemishes will be removed to a certain degree, which varies per person. Sometimes, a basic edit is just fine, but a minor retouch adds an enhanced look to clean up some minor imperfections.

FULL/SKIN RETOUCH: On the other hand, photo retouching is a more specialized technique that is used to make subtle or significant changes to an image by removing imperfections, enhancing the appearance, and adjusting lighting, color, exposure, and contrast. It's often used in portrait and fashion photography to create a polished and flawless appearance, smoothing the skin, blending skin tones while maintaining a textured natural look, improving imperfections, and removing distractions.

In general, basic photo editing is best suited for images that require general adjustments to improve their overall quality or change their appearance, while photo retouching is best suited for images that require specific adjustments to remove imperfections, enhance the appearance, or create a specific mood or atmosphere.
